FAQ
Questions before the first conversation.
Answers to common questions about our services, process, planning timelines and how we work with clients across destinations.
Get in touchWe work primarily across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi) and Europe (Italy, France, Greece, Spain). However, we are open to destinations worldwide for the right project. Our experience with cross-border celebrations allows us to navigate different cultures, vendors, and logistics with ease.
We recommend contacting us 12 to 18 months before your event date for full planning services. For design and creative direction, 9 to 12 months is ideal. That said, we have successfully executed beautiful celebrations in shorter timeframes when schedules align.
We intentionally limit our calendar to ensure each client receives our full attention. We typically work with 8 to 12 couples per year, depending on the scope of each project.
Our fees are tailored to each project based on scope, destination, and timeline. We work with clients who value quality and are prepared to invest in a seamless, refined experience. After an initial consultation, we provide a detailed proposal that reflects your specific needs.
Yes, this is one of our specialties. We have extensive experience coordinating celebrations that span multiple countries, whether it is a civil ceremony in one location and a reception in another, or managing guests arriving from around the world.
Absolutely. We guide our clients through the legal and administrative requirements for their chosen destination, ensuring all documentation is handled correctly and on time.
Full planning encompasses everything from budget architecture and venue sourcing to vendor curation, timeline development, design direction, and complete on-site coordination. We handle the details so you can be present and enjoy your celebration.
We focus on comprehensive services that allow us to maintain the quality and coherence our clients expect. While we do not offer day-of coordination as a standalone service, our Design & Creative Direction service is available for those who have planning in place but seek aesthetic guidance.
The process starts with an inquiry through our contact form. If there is alignment, we schedule a consultation to understand your vision, discuss your needs, and determine how we can best support you. From there, we prepare a tailored proposal.
We begin with the vision, not the logistics. The first conversations define the mood, the aesthetic and the experience you want your guests to have, and only then do we match it to a region and a venue. From there we build the team, design the multi-day arc, and handle the legal paperwork, transport and accommodation. Italy rewards couples who start early: 12 to 18 months gives us the room to secure the right venue and vendors and to design every detail without compromise.
Each landscape carries its own kind of celebration. Coastal weddings on the Amalfi Coast feel cinematic and vertical, with the sea always in frame. Lakeside weddings on Lake Como are romantic and classic, framed by historic villas and gardens. Countryside weddings in Tuscany and the Roman hills are warm and unhurried, built around long tables and golden light. City weddings in Rome bring history and architecture into the day. Desert weddings in Dubai are dramatic and intimate, staged for sunset. We design across all of them, always letting the place shape the celebration.
The Amalfi Coast is breathtaking and demanding in equal measure. The roads are narrow and winding, so guest transport, timing and shuttle logistics need to be planned with real care, especially in high season when traffic is heavy. Many venues sit on steep terraces with limited access, which shapes everything from floral delivery to guest mobility. We plan for all of it well in advance, so the day feels effortless even though the setting is complex. Late spring and early autumn give the best balance of light, weather and calm.
Lake Como is famously beautiful and famously changeable. The weather can shift within a single day, so we always design with a refined covered option that feels just as considered as the original setting, never an afterthought. Late May to June and the month of September are the most reliable windows for warm light and settled conditions. The lake rewards couples who embrace its romance and let us prepare quietly for whatever the sky decides.
Tuscany is about space and slowness. Venues are often private estates and farmhouses set well apart from each other, so the distances between the ceremony, the reception and guest accommodation need to be planned around from the start. Summers are hot, so we shape the timeline around the light and the heat, with shaded moments and later ceremonies. The reward is a celebration that feels rooted, generous and unmistakably Italian, built around long tables, vineyards and countryside light.
Rome lets you celebrate inside history. The city offers everything from historic villas and private estates to countryside casali just outside the centre, so the first decision is the kind of atmosphere you want, grand and architectural or green and intimate. Permits, traffic and timing call for local knowledge, which is exactly where our experience in the city matters. The result is a wedding held in one of the most evocative settings in the world, with the logistics handled quietly in the background.
A desert wedding in Dubai is dramatic, intimate and deeply cinematic. Season is everything: October to March offers comfortable temperatures, while the summer months are too hot for outdoor celebrations. We design the day around the light, with ceremonies timed to sunset when the dunes turn gold. Desert venues need careful planning for access, power, comfort and guest transport, all of which we handle so the setting feels wild and effortless at once.
Dubai is more permit-heavy than couples often expect, which is one of the reasons we like to start at least 12 months in advance. The legal side depends on your nationality and residency: civil court appointments are scheduled well ahead and home-country documents usually need legalisation, so many international couples choose to handle the legal ceremony at home and a symbolic celebration in Dubai. Venue permits are managed with the property, but outdoor and editorial photography frequently requires its own permit from the Dubai Film and TV Commission, especially on public beaches and at iconic locations, and drone footage requires GCAA authorisation. Vendors arriving from abroad may also need temporary work permits for the day. We co-ordinate the entire permit framework with local fixers, but this is the part of a Dubai wedding where lead time genuinely matters.
Zahra Studio is a destination wedding planning and creative direction studio based between Italy and Dubai. We design and produce multi-day celebrations across Europe and the Middle East, overseeing the entire process (from concept and strategy through to production) with a strong focus on design, guest experience and the narrative coherence of the event. What makes us distinctive is the elevated taste, the artistic Italian background and the integration of floral design, which give us a level of creative control and visual consistency that is quite rare in this industry.
We don't plan standard weddings, we create unique events for our couples. Every project begins with understanding who the couple truly is: how they live, what moves them, what they want their guests to feel. From there, every decision (spatial, floral, visual, logistical) follows that thread. Nothing is there simply because it's expected.
Between Italy and Dubai, working across Europe and the Middle East.
Italy, it's where I am born, it's my DNA and its inherent sense of beauty cannot leave you, Dubai it's home, for its cosmopolitan energy, where people meets and creates something breathtaking.
Yes, we are specialized in Destination Weddings, this is the core of our work!
Zahra Studio was built entirely around the concept of destination, our work only exists when the setting is part of the story. Whether it's a centuries-old masseria in Puglia, a Villa on Lake Como, a private estate in the hills above the Amalfi Coast or the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the location is never just a backdrop, it's part of the experience.
Design-led, editorial, refined and sometimes minimal. We are not interested in decoration for its own sake, we work with an intentional visual language that enhances the location rather than competing with it. Each project has its own internal logic, its own palette, its own rhythm. We work toward something that will look as considered in ten years as it does on the day.
Structured, with a strong creative vision. I believe the planning process should feel as considered as the event itself, clear communication, thoughtful timelines and a working relationship built on genuine trust. Couples often tell me that what they appreciated most was feeling completely at ease in the months of planning but also on the day. That ease is something we design for, and we build on each other's trust, it's not something that happens by chance.
Yes, entirely. We don't offer standardised packages because we don't believe in standardised weddings. Each collaboration is scoped based on the couple's vision, the complexity of the project, and the specific services required, from full planning and creative direction to partial planning or production support. We build the framework together.
Be selective, invest in your emotions, the experience, not just the aesthetics. Think about what you want your guests to feel when they walk into the room, not just what they'll see in the photographs. And together we can choose a team you genuinely trust, then you can relax and live your day completely and create new unforgettable moments.
